Since 1971, The Brick has been a trusted name in home furnishings across Canada. Headquartered in Edmonton, Alberta, the company operates over 209 locations nationwide, including The Brick, The Brick Mattress Store, The Brick Super Store, and The Brick Outlet.

The Brick faces unique challenges including managing complex inventory, long supply chain lead times, and customized product configurations. The system must support multi-channel sales, logistics for large-item delivery, and warranty services, while integrating with legacy systems to ensure seamless operations and an enhanced customer experience. Oracle emerged as the preferred system due to the ability to integrate seamlessly with The Brick's third- party systems.

To bring this vision to life, Novamodus was entrusted with the implementation following a competitive bidding process. As a boutique consultancy specializing exclusively in Oracle solutions, Novamodus brought unparalleled expertise in preforming complex application integrations.
Savings Outside the Store, Novamodus cuts Operating Costs
The Brick selected Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications as its ERP solution of choice. The implementation included Oracle Cloud Financials, Purchasing, Expenses, Planning and Budgeting, along with Approvals across requisitions, purchasing, expenses, and invoices. Additionally, Invoice Scanning and Accounts Reconciliation Cloud Service were deployed to enhance automation and accuracy in financial processes.
Starting in September 2016, the project ran concurrently with a third-party upgrade to the merchandising system. Integrations between the Oracle ERP system and the merchandizing system were complicated as both systems were in the process of being configured at the same time. The project ran into the potential for delay when a component of the merchandizing upgrade was not delivered on time.
When made aware of the missing component, Novamodus quickly stepped in and designed a custom solution that would prevent delay and fulfil the role of the reduced functionality merchandising system. Ultimately, The Brick decided to delay the project to obtain the deliverables from the third-party provider.
In October 2017, The Brick's Oracle Fusion Cloud transformation successfully went live. The Brick chose to engage Novamodus for Application Managed Support (AMS) in the years following go-live to ensure post-implementation success.
